This morning as Kyle was about to walk out the door to go to school he asks me....

"Do you have $36.oo?"

I look at him a little confused and ask "$36.00, what do you need $36.00 for?"

Now, as only Kyle can do.....straight faced and no emotion, he says
"The Valentine Dance"

I'm thinking to myself....What Valentine Dance.
I've not heard a thing...nadda...nothing about it from Kyle. I guess I should've known this could happen, I mean Valentines Day is coming and my two older kids have gone to this Valentine Dance in the past. But, this completely caught me off gaurd with Kyle...it came out of the blue this morning. Oh and the dance is this Saturday!!

I tried not to look or sound surprised as I asked a few questions like....
"Did you ask someone to go with you?"
"Who else is going in the group?"
"Oh, a Limo???"
"Dinner?"


So...I'm not thrilled that he's going to the Valentine Dance with only 2 days notice...but it sounds like it's a big group of kids going as friends. They all want to go together and have fun. Hmmmm. I'm still contemplating the whole thing.



Update.....there could be a change in the plans.......

When Kyle got home from school today....he wasn't feeling good.
I took his temperature and it was 100.3.
Dang! He's sick.
The flu is going around the school...quite a few kids are out with it.
So now Kyle has it. It's the fever and cough starting.
Now I'm wondering even if he will be able to go to the Valentine Dance.
We'll see.
